Mit dem Delegationstreffen und dem offiziellen Training im Stadion “La Superiora” haben die World Skate Games 2022 nun endlich begonnen.
Das Delegationstreffen verlief wie erwartet, doch spielt uns die verkündete Regelung für blaue Karten nicht wirklich in die Hände. Es wurde nämlich festgelegt, dass man blaue Karten während der gesamten Meisterschaft “behält” und eine Spielerin bzw. ein Spieler bei 3 blauen Karten für das darauffolgende Spiel gesperrt wird. Für uns bedeutet das, dass wir mit unserem verkürzten Kader nun bewusst darauf achten, dass so ein Fall nicht eintritt.

Das Stadion “La Superiora” befindet sich südlich von San Juan, ist etwas weiter entfernt als das “Aldo Cantoni” und laut diversen Aussagen, die einzige Halle der World Skate Games 2022, welche nicht klimatisiert ist. Das ändert aber nichts an unserem Vorhaben Nationalteamgeschichte zu schreiben.
Der Platztest verlief ganz ok. Der Boden ist recht griffig, da der Veranstalter den Parkett mit einem Zuckergemisch präpariert hat.
Morgen geht es dann los und mit Deutschland haben wir ein ordentliches Los gezogen, ein Sieg ist allerdings nicht unmöglich. Topleistung, Teamwork und eine außerordentliche Verteidigung sind die die Erfolgsfaktoren, die wir abrufen müssen, um bei so einem Spiel zu punkten.

Eine Verfolgungsjagd durch san juan

Auf dem Weg zum Mittagessen kam es heute für unser Team zu einer etwas beunruhigenden Situation. Als wir auf unser Taxi warteten hat uns ein zivil gekleideter Einheimischer davon überzeugen wollen, dass er ein Polizist sei und in bestimmten Situationen helfen möchte bessere Deals herauszuschlagen.
Wir haben dann als Team gleich dankend abgelehnt, weil wir dachten, dass man uns “über den Tisch ziehen” möchte. 
Wir verließen dann das Hotel und entschieden uns zum Restaurant zu laufen, weil man uns sagte, dass das Taxi erst in einer halben Stunde hier sei. Der San Juanino, so werden die Einheimischen hier genannt, wollte einfach nicht locker lassen und lief uns hinterher. Spanisch sprechend, wollte er uns ständig irgendwelche Deals anbieten.
Nach und nach fühlte sich die Situation immer komischer an, da er uns auf Schritt und Tritt folgte. Egal, ob wir schnell oder langsam liefen, die Straße überquerten oder bei roter Ampel über den Schutzweg gingen, der San Juanino ließ sich einfach nicht abschütteln…

Wenn der Kriminelle zum beschützer wird

Francesco und Thomas gingen in der Zwischenzeit direkt vom Delegationstreffen zum Restaurant und warteten dort auf uns.
Als wir endlich beim Treffpunkt ankamen und unserem Staff-Team erklärten, dass man uns vom Hotel bis zum Restaurant belästigte und verfolgte, lachten diese nur und entschärften sofort die Situation. 
Was sie bereits wussten, dem Team allerdings noch vorenthalten wurde, war, dass jedes Team zivilen Polizeischutz als Betreuung beigestellt bekommt. Das bedeutet also nicht weniger, als dass wir versuchten von unserem persönlichen Assistent davonzulaufen. Kurz darauf machten wir bereits ein Mannschaftsfoto mit unserem Polizeikollege – tja, so schnell kann es gehen. 😄

Die Polizei, dein Freund und Helfer!

Mit dem Polizeischutz an unserer Seite haben sich ein paar Dinge sofort vereinfacht. Zum einen haben wir jetzt fast immer einen San Juanino dabei, was nicht nur die Kommunikation sondern auch die Orientierung in San Juan wesentlich vereinfacht. Zum anderen hat man uns auch beim Geldwechsel von US-Dollar in Argentinische Pesos geholfen.
Der offizielle Kurs, den man bei Banken bekommt, bewegt sich derzeit bei etwa 155 Pesos pro US-Dollar. Nach mehreren Gesprächen hat man uns aber stark davon abgeraten um diesen Kurs zu wechseln. Anstatt dessen wurde uns empfohlen auf “inoffizielles” Geldwechseln auszuweichen – gesagt, getan – mit unserem Polizeikollegen hatten wir beim inoffiziellen Geldwechsel einen Wechselkurs von 282 Pesos pro US-Dollar.

Zum Stadion “La Superiora” wurden wir sogar kurzerhand vom Polizeichef persönlich eskortiert. Zwar hatte dieser nur einen kleinen Fünfplätzer-Pickup, das hat ihn aber nicht davon abgehalten mit einer 7+1 Besatzung durch die Schnellstraßen San Juans zu fahren, die Ladefläche natürlich voll ausgenutzt.
Seine trockene Aussage: “Ich bin der Polizeichef, ich darf das.” 🤣

Livestream abgesagt

Leider erreichte uns auch eine schlechte Nachricht, vor allem für unsere Fans zu Hause. Ohne eine richtige Begründung wurde uns berichtet, dass es für unsere Spiele keine Liveübertragung geben wird. Für uns natürlich sehr schade, da wir dieses Event auch gerne mit unseren Familien und Fans teilen wollten.

Ein kleines Trostpflaster: Team Deutschland versucht unser heutiges Spiel eigenmächtig zu übertragen. Je nach Internetverbindung könnte das mehr oder gut funktionieren.
